Welcome to La Plâtrière
Linda and Pascal invite you to discover Le Puy en Velay, its culture and its people, its region, its history and its magnificent nature.
Clinging to Corneille Rock just below the cathedral, La Plâtrière will be your home away from home for a stay that we hope will be relaxing and rich in cultural and sporting adventures. Our building is a former school for deaf and dumb autistic children, and we have renovated the classrooms and dormitory on the first floor.
The historic name of ‘La Plâtrière’ refers to the square of the same name, a stone’s throw from our home, which was laid out on the site of an old lime quarry from which Oligocene gypsum was extracted for use in construction or for bleaching earth.
You’ll enjoy the silence of the upper town, the sunshine and the breathtaking views over the surrounding hills, while remaining just a stone’s throw from the many attractions that Le Puy has to offer.
Push open the door and come in!
